Throughout the wiki, especially on ship articles, you will see an infobox like the one shown on the right. If you look under Specifications, there will be information about the ship's top speed, (from a range of Poor to Excellent:) acceleration, braking and turning speed. This article will explain how to classify a ship's specification as per wiki standard.

Note: All of the specifications must specify the upgrade level of the ship. If unspecified, then the specification will be treated as the value when the ship is fully upgraded.

Acceleration

In order to define the class of the acceleration, you will need a stopwatch. You will have to measure the time it takes for the ship to accelerate to 10 knots. Then, you will need to convert this into one of the 4 values for specs:

Time to accelerate to 10 knots Spec Value
<3 seconds Exceptional
3-5 seconds Average
5-7 seconds Below Average
>7 seconds Poor

Braking

Similarly to acceleration, you will need a stopwatch. Measure the time it takes to make the ship stop from 10 knots to a full stop. Then, using the below table, convert the time into a spec value:

Time to decelerate from 10 knots Spec Value
<3 seconds Exceptional
3-5 seconds Average
5-7 seconds Below Average
>7 seconds Poor

Turning Speed

The turning speed of a ship can be determined by measuring the time it takes to turn the ship 90 degrees either clockwise or anti-clockwise. Example: If your ship is currently facing North, you will measure the time it takes to turn the ship to the East or the West - both will work. Use the table below to classify the ship's turning speed:

Time to turn Spec Value
<10 seconds Exceptional
10-13 seconds Average
13-15 seconds Below Average
>15 seconds Poor
